DT Call.

Morning all,

In addition to our challenge this week, we are also running a DT call. Unfortunately some of our members are currently absent due to either illness or having left the team due to other commitments. We are very sad to see some of them go and others to be temporarily unavailable and are thinking of all of them.

To ensure that we are still able to run our challenge blog, we would like to open up some permanent spots on our team.

Would you like to join our DT Team here at CRAFT Challenge?

  1. We are a friendly bunch and currently have space on our DT team for some more crafters/designers.

    Benefits of joining our team:

    • A friendly team to work with.
    • Flexibility. (we can agree to you only participating every 2 weeks if wished for instance)
    • Great sponsors, several of which provide us with freebies for our samples.
    • Possibility of helping to shape the challenge.

    Your duties:

    • Provide samples for our challenges on an agreed frequency.
    • Comment on entries according to our rota.
    • Have fun!
    • Be committed to supporting Stamp Out, in other words no sharing of images!

How to apply to become part of our team:
    • Email us for further information or apply by showing us some of your best work (we are a crafting blog, your work does not necessarily need to be a card).
    • Tell us in the post why you would like to join our team (junior members are welcome).

We will then as a team make a decision on shortlisting and inviting our new DT members.

Good luck, we look forward to seeing your applications! This DT Call is open from Thursday the 7th of September.

DT Call for CRAFT Challenge.

This post will remain on top for the duration of our DT Call!
please scroll down for the current challenge.

Afternoon all,

We hope you have all enjoyed your summer as much as the weather has allowed. (although I believe it has been winter in the southern hemisphere). We feel it is time to do another DT call again. Our team of dedicated design team members consists purely out of enthusiastic people who have made crafting their hobby. We all have a busy private or professional life in the rest of our time as well and would benefit from having some extra members on board who are just as enthusiastic. We are a friendly bunch and believe that our main aim is to have fun.

So, what are we looking for? What do we expect of our new DT members?

  • We expect you to be enthusiastic.
  • We expect you to either have your own blog, or be willing to set one up.
  • We expect you to be a crafter (paper or other crafts welcome).
  • We expect you to keep to the terms and conditions of our sponsors when using their products and to be supportive of Stamp Out.
  • We expect you to create something for our weekly challenges (you can partake on a weekly or 2-weekly basis if you wish)
  • We expect you to post your projects in a timely fashion on our private DT blog.
  • We expect you to partake in our rota for choosing a Top3.
  • We expect you to be friendly and encouraging when commenting on projects from other DT members or people taking part in our challenges.
  • We expect you to take part in the rota for commenting on entries in our challenges.
What do we offer?

  • A friendly team.
  • Support where needed with the crafting challenges.
  • A possibility of being active within the organisation of challenges.
  • To have fun.
  • The use of free products from our sponsors according to their terms and conditions, where appropriate.
Would you like to join us?

In that case:

  • Create a post on your blog especially for this DT Call.
  • Create a special project or show off your best work in this post on your blog.
  • Within this post, please tell us why you would like to join us and what you feel you can bring to our team.
The closing date as mentioned before is the 20th of October. We will start selecting our new team members shortly after the closing date and get back to you about our decision as soon as possible after.

Don't hesitate to join in, none of us are professional crafters and we only expect your best work. If you are less than 15 years old, but would still like to be considered, please join in as well. Junior DT members are also welcome in our team and are allowed to join in with the challenges whenever they feel able. They do not take part in any of the work above, except for the crafting part. If you are a junior, please add (junior DT) behind your name in Inlinkz.

We look forward to seeing your applications come through and hope we will be able to invite you to become a part of our team.

Good Luck!

Jo and the CRAFT Team.

DT Call for CRAFT Challenge, invitation to join our team! Extended till the 15th of December!

Evening everyone!

This post will remain on top for the duration of our DT call, please scroll down for our challenges and winner posts.
The period for applications has been extended till the 15th of December to allow you more of a chance to apply!

Exciting times are here again! We have another DT call. Unfortunately some of our DT members have left us over the last few months and another few have some other commitments that occasionally interfere with their ability to find time for crafting.

Here at CRAFT Challenge our main aim is:

To have fun!

We therefore fully accept that our team members sometimes need to skip a week (or a few weeks) every now and then.

So, what we would like, is to have some lovely, friendly, fun loving and talented people join our team to share the burden of creating examples for our challenges.

What do we expect of our DT members? (And don't worry, we are very flexible indeed!)

  • To make a project every week where possible (missing occasionally is absolutely fine).
  • To take part in commenting on entries in the challenges.
  • To participate in thinking of new themes and challenges (which are known well in advance of the challenges).
  • To take part in a rota for choosing our Top3.
  • To have your projects ready on our DT blog 2 days before the challenge by the latest.
  • To use freebies provided by our sponsors where appropriate.
  • Please be aware that we support Stamp Out and if we are made aware that any of our sponsors or DT members are in breach of this, we will suspend their sponsorship or membership immediately!

What do we offer?

  • A friendly team to work with.
  • Challenges are known well in advance so you can work ahead if needed.
  • Some of our sponsors provide us with freebies to use for our challenges.
  • We would like everyone to have FUN!
  • We welcome both permanent, guest and junior DT's, male or female, please don't hesitate to give it a try!
  • To start soon after you have been accepted as a new DT member or as soon as is convenient to you.

So, do you think this may be for you? Please do the following to apply.
  1. Please post our DT call on your blog.
  2. Tell us in this post why you feel you are right for the 'job' and why you would like to join us.
  3. Have your best work featured in this post and link this post and project to Inlinkz below.
  4. You can only enter this DT call once!
  5. You will need to link to Inlinkz below before 12pm on the 15th of December GMT. (Period has been extended!)
  6. Voting will start after this and close on the 21st of December.
  7. Voting is purely for our already existing DT members!
We will contact the successful applicants soon after the voting ends and announce them after we have received their confirmation of willingness to join our team.

So, good luck! We look forward to your entries!

Love,

Jo and The CRAFT Team.

Introducing our new DT members.

It's time to announce our new DT members.

They are:

Aunty Sue

Hello I am 53 year old retired mother of 1 son. I go by the name of Aunty Sue courtesy of my 2 nephews and their many friends. I come from the North West- Manchester not far from the famous Trafford Centre and Manchester United's Football Ground.
I found card making about 10 years ago when I retired on ill health, although I didn't really get the bug until about 2006 when I got divorced. I have always enjoyed some sort of craft and dabbled with Knitting , Cross Stitch and even made my Bridesmaids Dresses. Crafting has given me many new and valued friends over the years. I found that it is the best form of stress relief and helped me through many dark times. My first love was decoupage but then found stamping and recently digital stamps which I cant get enough of and love the versatility of them.
I have had a blog for a few years and have learnt so much by visiting all you talented people who all seem to be so friendly and always willing to share your knowledge. Now where else in the world would you get that for free. I look forward to visiting you all and learning from my new team mates.
Jasmine - junior DT

Jasmine is Karen's daughter and will occasionally take part in the challenges.

Jeanette

Hi, my name is Jeanette and for as long as I can remember I have always enjoyed some form of crafting, going from one craft to another, but have become totally addicted to paper crafts. This all happened about ten years ago and now I really enjoy creating cards and books and I'm forever seeking new ideas and projects. This is my escape from the real world.

Liam - junior DT

Liam is Sharon S's 5 year old son and will occasionally take part in the challenges as well.

Lisette

I am a Mom to two beautiful little girls 9 and 10 and a couple of fur babies. I have been crafting or in the arts since I learned how to write. Back in 2005 I was introduced to stamping and papercrafts and fell in love! I have, and still dabble in crocheting, ceramics, watercolor, oil painting etc... But my passion is coloring in Copics and Distress Inks. I love creating cards and more. I look forward to participating and hopefully inspiring here at CRAFT.

Owen - junior DT

Owen is Sharon S's 4 year old son, who will occasionally also take part in the challenges.

Sheryl

I am in my mid-fifties and have been married to Ian for four and a half years. We live in Staffordshire and have four beautiful Birman cats. I am step mum to three lovely girls and step gran to gorgeous Ryan who is now three! I took up card making 18 months ago to relieve the stress from my hectic working life and have become totally addicted as both my bank balance and spare bedroom will prove. I am thrilled to have been chosen as part of the DT and am looking forward to working with all the other ‘addicts’ at C.R.A.F.T . challenge

Reminder: We have a DT/GDT call out at the moment!

Hello to all our followers.

We just want to remind you that we currently have a DT and GDT call going.

What we are after is:

* A lovely friendly crafter to join our friendly team. (or a few)
* This can be either as DT or GDT member, juniors are also very welcome to apply!
* Someone who can commit to making a project on a weekly basis (illness and other circumstances excepted and juniors only when they are able to)

To apply as GDT or DT:

* Please create a project for this week's challenge and add it to this week's challenge.
* Add (DT) or (GDT) to your name under your project in Inlinkz. (JDT if you are a junior). (Feel free to also mention it in a comment under the challenge post)
* Please remember we don't allow back linking for our challenges, it needs to be a new project, but you can combine challenges.
* Please also add on your blog post about our DT call and that you would like to be considered.

(obviously all entries into our challenge will still have a chance of winning or being chosen for our Top3 irrespective of whether they are applying)

We will then come and have a look at your work and try decide on which crafter(s) we would like to join our team.

Looking forward to your entries!

Love,

Jo.

C.R.A.F.T 65 - Milestone Birthdays/ Anything Goes.

We have some exciting news this week!
Well, it's a little bit bittersweet actually because the good news is we are having a DT Call so if you love C.R.A.F.T (and who doesn't?) and you fancy making the demo cards for our challenges, put fingers to keyboard and e-mail us with your details and a link to your blog, so we can have a nosey around.
The closing date will be at the end of this challenge, no more applications will be accepted after 6am on Thursday 2.9.10 (UK time).
We will aim to contact our new members on the 3rd or 4th of September.

The sad news is, we're losing about half of our team.....(...sniff...)  including me (Eiglas)....(..sniff sniff...) Andrea.....(...sniff sniff sniff...) the supertalented Julie (.....sniff ...sniffle sniffle...) and our wonderful leader for the past......well...AGE...Claire (HopeJacare)....(.....WAHHHHHH......!)

We all get on so well and work together so well as a team, it's a real bummer that life sometimes intrudes but, well, life does do that sometimes and this is one of those times.
We'll all be back now and then to do a Guest DT spot or perhaps act as a sponsor (like Claire is this week) but we're needed elswhere just now for a whole mass of different reasons.

However, back to this week!
Our theme this week is Milestone Birthdays / Anything Goes so any of the big birthdays are very welcome but if you don't have one then come up with something else that COULD be a BIG celebration.  For instance, my card was made for a very clever lad called Ben who has just got his GCSE results of 6 'A's and 6 A*'s ! What a celebration will be happening in his house tonight!

I must apologize for my photo! I'm usually so fussy over photos but I didn't have long to make this card (my customer asked me last night..!LOL!) so I was very rushed to get the piccy before the light failed this evening and I must have jogged the camera.

Our team have done a marvellous job, especially considering for some it could be their swansong on C.R.A.F.T !

We still have our amazingly talented Guest Designer with us, take a bow  Christa!
Christa has actually used Claire's lovely image for her card and I think you'll agree it's stunning!

I know these demos will inspire you all to have a bash and get an entry in and if that doesn't work, I only have to tell you what the prize is!

I mentioned earlier that Claire (HopeJacare Doodles) is our sponsor this week...?
Well, she has kindly proffered one of her fabulous new stamps as a prize this week! How fab is that? (I want it but team members aren't allowed.....!)

Here is her lovely 'Daisy' stamp,

which I'm sure you will all want to add to your collections!
If you aren't lucky enough to win it, you can always pop over to 'StitchyBear Stamps' and buy it! LOL!

Look forward, as ever, to seeing what you all come up with!

Hugs
The C.R.A.F.T Team!
